Make understanding your own body normal.
Too much of health happens to people instead of with them. The Institute of Doctors exists to flip that — giving everyone free, trustworthy tools to check in on their own health, and the knowledge to act on what they find.
Why we started
It began with hearing. One of our founders spent two years and several appointments before getting a simple audiogram — something that takes four minutes. Millions of people quietly live with hearing loss, tinnitus or failing eyesight because the first step feels too big.
So we built that first step, and made it free. Then a community formed around it — people comparing notes, asking questions, and pushing us to add more checks. Today the Institute is as much theirs as ours.
Not a clinic. Not a shop. A community.
The most useful health knowledge is shared between people who've been there. Here's how members take part.
Ask & answer
Discuss your results, swap experiences with tinnitus or hearing aids, and get answers from people who get it.

Every new test is chosen by the community. Suggest a check you need and rally support for it.

Built carefully. Reviewed by clinicians.
01
Grounded in real methods
Each test adapts an established clinical method — pure-tone audiometry, Snellen acuity, validated questionnaires — not something we invented.
02
Reviewed before launch
Licensed clinicians review every test and guide for accuracy and safe, honest framing before it goes live.
03
Honest about limits
We're upfront that consumer hardware isn't a calibrated clinic. Screening tools point you in the right direction — they don't diagnose.
04
Private by default
Your results live on your device. We don't sell data and we don't run ads against your health.
Medical disclaimer
The Institute of Doctors provides educational health-screening tools and AI-generated information for general awareness only. It is not a medical service and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Our tests run in your web browser on consumer devices that are not calibrated to clinical standards. Results can be affected by your headphones, screen, environment, and the test conditions, and may differ substantially from a professional assessment. The AI analysis is generated by a language model, can be incomplete or wrong, and must not be relied upon for medical decisions.
Always seek the advice of a licensed physician or audiologist with any questions about a medical condition. Never disregard professional advice or delay seeking it because of something you read or measured here.
If you experience sudden hearing loss, severe ear pain, discharge, dizziness, or any urgent symptom, seek medical care immediately or contact your local emergency services.
Privacy, in short
Test results are stored locally in your browser by default. We don't sell your personal data or use it for advertising. The full privacy policy and terms are available any time, and you can reach us at [email protected].
