Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the Institute of Doctors website, tests, content, and services. By using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
The service is educational
The Institute of Doctors provides educational health-screening tools and AI-generated information only. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and does not create any professional relationship. Your use is also subject to our medical disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
- attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, scrape at scale, or gain unauthorised access to the service or its systems;
- rely on the service as a substitute for professional medical care, or present its outputs to others as a medical diagnosis;
- misrepresent your identity, infringe the rights of others, or upload unlawful or harmful content.
Accounts
If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and notify us of any unauthorised use.
Intellectual property
The Institute of Doctors and its content, branding, and software are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service for its intended purpose. You retain ownership of the results you generate.
No warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any result is accurate or clinically valid.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Institute of Doctors and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the service or its outputs — including any health decision made on their basis. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Third-party services
The optional Care consult is delivered by independent licensed clinicians under their own terms, and is not emergency care. Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience and we are not responsible for their content.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above, and your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
