Ce que ça mesure
Your resting heart rate — how many times your heart beats per minute while you are calm and at rest. For most healthy adults this sits between 60 and 100 beats per minute, and a lower resting rate often reflects better cardiovascular fitness.
Comment ça marche
You find your pulse at the wrist (radial) or neck (carotid), start a 15- or 30-second timer, and tap a button on every beat you feel — or simply type the number you counted. The app multiplies your count up to a full minute to estimate your beats per minute and places it in the usual resting-rate bands.
Conseils pour un résultat fiable
- 1Measure at the same time — First thing in the morning, before getting up, gives the most consistent resting reading for tracking over time.
- 2Take more than one count — Repeat a couple of times and use the average — a single count is easily thrown off by a missed or extra beat.
- 3Fitness lowers it — Endurance training can push a healthy resting rate into the 40s or 50s; in trained people that is normal, not a problem.
- 4Note how it feels — A rate that feels irregular, racing, or comes with dizziness or chest discomfort should be checked by a clinician, not just counted.
