Ce que ça mesure

This self-check measures where you sit on the introversion–extraversion spectrum — one of the most robustly studied dimensions in personality science. Rooted in both Eysenck's foundational Extraversion–Introversion model and the Big Five personality framework, it looks at whether you tend to gain energy from social interaction and external stimulation (extraversion) or from solitude and inner reflection (introversion). Most people fall somewhere in between, a position researchers call ambiversion. This is an educational self-report, not a clinical assessment.

Comment ça marche

You agree or disagree with 12 short statements about your everyday preferences and habits. About half are worded from an extraverted perspective and half from an introverted one. Your answers are combined into a single score out of 48 and placed on a three-part spectrum: introvert-leaning (0–17), ambivert (18–30), or extravert-leaning (31–48). The check takes around two to three minutes.

Conseils pour un résultat fiable

  • 1Personality is a spectrum, not a boxVery few people are purely introverted or purely extraverted. Most show a mixture of both tendencies and adapt to different situations. Your result describes a tendency, not a fixed identity.
  • 2Honour your energy needsWhether you recharge in solitude or through social contact, ignoring those needs over time leads to fatigue and irritability. Scheduling the right kind of recovery is a practical wellbeing skill, not a personality flaw.
  • 3Introversion is not shynessIntroversion refers to where you gain energy — not to social anxiety or lack of social skill. Many introverts are highly sociable and skilled communicators who simply need quiet time afterwards.
  • 4Context shapes behaviourYou may behave more extraverted at work and more introverted at home, or vice versa. This is normal. Your underlying trait is the baseline preference, but people adapt all the time.
  • 5Retake if life circumstances changeMajor life events — a new job, parenthood, a move, or mental health changes — can temporarily shift how you present. If your result surprises you, try again in a few weeks.
